OUR CALENDAR OF EVENTS IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

We are sponsored by Post 3 of the American Legion. Our membership includes riders living in Lincoln and southeastern Nebraska.

The national website description gives guidelines for joining. We are firstly members of the Sons of the American Legion, the Legion Auxiliary, or American Legion. If you own a motorcycle with a 350 cc engine or larger and are a member of the Legion family, join us! As members of the American Legion family, we ride as we honor those who have served and who are serving. We are actively recruiting, so please contact us, regardless of your current post or membership! For example, if you have recently moved from New Hampshire to Nebraska, you are welcome to join the Lincoln ALR and maintain your original post membership. We will also help with joining the American Legion family. Officer contact information is on the right sidebar. Email officers@lincolnalr.info for more information. Hickman Spaghetti Feed Benefit

Join us for a Spaghetti Feed Benefit on Saturday, April 22, 2017, from 5 – 8 p.m. at the Hickman Legion Post 105 in memory of Paul Thompson, son of Larry and Iris Thompson, Lincoln, and son-in-law of Harold and Rosy Hoge, Firth. This benefit is being sponsored by the Hickman Post 105 Auxiliary. Funds raised will go toward an educational fund for his two young daughters. Harold is an active 35 year member of the Hickman American Legion and Rosy is an active member of the Auxiliary. They have lived in the Hickman Community for over 30 years.

Paul, age 42, passed away on March 12th in Lincoln after being diagnosed with stomach cancer in August, 2016. He and his wife of 13 years, Cheryl (Hoge) have two daughters, Lucy, 5 and Clara, 1. Cancer treatments occurred in Lincoln, but also took the couple to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas in hopes of a surgical procedure that would treat the cancer and buy them more time together to raise their girls who, at the time of diagnosis, were only 4 ½ years and 4 ½ months old.

Paul and Cheryl own Elegant Occasions Gowns in Lincoln, and Paul was an employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

He loved nothing more than spoiling his girls! Lucy got special Saturday dates with daddy, since Cheryl typically worked on Saturdays. When Clara was born, Paul would take both girls to a grandparent’s house to have extra hands to help with the active Lucy and new baby. Evan as he battled cancer, he still cared for the girls as much as possible. In addition to spending time with his family and friends, Paul enjoyed attending Husker and Saltdogs baseball games and watching Husker football. He and Cheryl also loved traveling, their favorite places being Chicago and Colorado.

During a recent hospital stay, Paul told Cheryl of his wish that their girls receive a Christian-based education. Lucy currently attends Pre-Kindergarten at Messiah Luther School, and it was Paul’s desire that she and Clara Continue school there. Funds donated will be used to make that wish a reality, and to establish a college Fund for their future education.

Hope you will consider attending this event. Donations can be made payable to Cheryl Hoge.
